The Shop-Vac 16 Gallon 6.5 HP Carted Wet Dry Vacuum SVX2 uses Shop-Vac’s SVX2 motor with advanced motor technology, which means better power and longer motor life, with a 35% increase in air watts compared to the motor of equal peak HP vacuums.

It has a sturdy, non-corrosive metal construction and an 18-foot power cord. Between the 16-gallon capacity and the large cleaning radius (a total of over 30 feet, counting the hose), you can focus on cleaning instead of constantly emptying the canister.

Speaking of metal, all the 1 ½-inch diameter cleaning attachments (except the hose) for this vacuum are made of metal. The locking hose, floor nozzle, and extension wands can all be stored on the rear tool storage basket until you need them. This wet dry vacuum also comes with brush and squeegee inserts for the floor tool.

Like other Shop-Vacs, you can use the cartridge filter and dry dust collection filter bag for dry pickup. If you have liquid messes to clean up, remove the filter bag and replace the cartridge filter with the foam filter sleeve to protect the life of the motor and vacuum. Check the bin periodically so you’ll know when it’s time to be emptied.

Fair warning: because this is such a powerful wet dry vacuum with a huge capacity, made of tough materials, it’s quite heavy. It’s Shop-Vac’s heaviest, weighing in at 46 pounds. But you don’t need to worry about this heavyweight - there’s a large metal bar on the back of the vacuum to make it easy to maneuver, in addition to two large wheels to help you navigate over obstacles.
